  • Italy has long been a popular option for those looking to purchase a lakeside property due to the desirable combination of its Mediterranean microclimate, picturesque landscape and charming history. The picturesque northern lakes such as beautiful Lake Como remain the most highly sought after, enjoying a premium of up to 20%* when compared with other lakes in the region owing to its dramatic landscape as well as its plethora of famed residents such as George Clooney and Madonna. Another advantage to Lake Como is its convenient location, just an hour away from Milan and the airports of Linate, Malpensa and Bergamo, making short breaks and weekend getaways all the more accessible. For those seeking access to outdoor activities, Italy’s largest lake, Lake Garda, remains the unrivalled favourite. A haven for sports enthusiasts, the lake offers the perfect environment to enjoy windsurfing, sailing and canyoning, whilst it’s gentle hills make ideal terrain for mountain biking.

  • Lakeside properties in central Italy are considerably lower in price than in the north, but still offer stunning natural beauty and restful surroundings.
