Highgate Legacy Residence
Nestled in the most prestigious road in Highgate, long-favoured by renowned figures from literature to music, our Highgate residence boasts a rich narrative reflected in its striking architectural legacy.

ENTRANCE HALL
On approaching this stunning property, its charming façade is framed by blossom trees and period details such as elegant gate lanterns and classic brass fittings. Beyond the front door lies an entrance hall with poise, where a hand-carved bespoke table stands at its centre. The table’s rounded, sculptural legs introduce a contemporary contrast to the original panelling and arched architectural details, complemented by a striking modern light fixture, which unifies the space.
Above the stone fireplace, a circular mirror with copper detailing reflects the striped, monochromatic wallpapered ceiling and the client’s stunning artwork collection, which includes a Picasso. The bespoke bench with soft, curved detailing introduces a beautifully calming hue of blue, introducing both colour and balance into the space.

POWDER ROOM
A charming powder room provides an unexpected burst of colour, featuring a rare Crapper WC that dates back to when the property was built in the 17thcentury. The striking wallpaper by Cole and Son combined with Little Greene paint in Hopper, brings an element of fun to the design.

DINING ROOM
Designed around our client’s love of hosting, the dining room adopts a traditional approach to entertaining. A bespoke dining table, handcrafted in tabu veneer and antique brass, serves as the elegant centrepiece of the space. Running parallel is a meticulously crafted light fitting by Barovier & Toso, made from Murano glass. The artwork by Damien Hirst and Dale Chihuly serves as a backdrop, complementing the dramatic dark blue panelling and chairs in the space. A bespoke backlit onyx bar finishes the space and provides the perfect transition for daytime hosting to late-night gatherings.

RECEPTION ROOM
Bathed in afternoon light and overlooking the historic grounds, the reception room is a sanctuary of comfort and understated elegance. At its centre, an oversized ‘Miami’ sofa by Linteloo brings the space together and is designed for relaxation. Surrounding it, the sleek bespoke tiered marble coffee tables and a monochromatic rug introduce a sense of quiet, contemporary luxury. Above the architectural fireplace, a striking work by Damien Hirst reflects the client’s love for modern art.

KITCHEN
At the heart of the home, the kitchen is designed to seamlessly integrate contemporary craftsmanship with the property’s historic character. Featuring exquisite modern joinery by Roundhouse Design, the kitchen showcases clean lines softened by natural light and a calming palette of light sage green, accented by bronze liquid metal detailing.

BREAKFAST ROOM
Flowing seamlessly from the kitchen, the breakfast room offers a stunning garden view, visible through beautiful arched windows. The banquette encourages relaxed, everyday family dining, centred around a kitchen table and a contemporary sculptural ceiling light that pulls the space together.

PRINCIPAL SUITE
Upon entering the principal suite, you are instantly transported to a tranquil retreat, where exquisite period details combine with beautifully crafted pieces that are far removed from the hustle and bustle of city life. Designed in response to our client’s brief for a serene and restorative space, the room is bathed in natural light that dances across the walls. The gardens are subtly woven into the interior through hand-embroidered blossom wallcovering by Fromental - an homage to the trees just beyond the windows. Framing the picturesque grounds, the view is as art-worthy as the carefully curated collection within.
An elegant four-poster bed is framed by thoughtfully designed bespoke pieces, including the organic shaped rug, bedside tables and the sweeping curves of the bench perched at its end. The bed is finished in luxurious Frette linen, while the bench is dressed with a soft Loro Piana cashmere throw.

DRESSING ROOM
Elegantly designed with leather-inlaid bespoke joinery, the dressing room continues the suite’s serene palette. The ombre-effect glass panels of the chandelier cast soft, ambient light, while a textural rug enhances the space’s calm, curated atmosphere. A gold bobble mirror adds the perfect touch of playfulness, brightening the room with a lively sense of fun.

MASTER ENSUITE
The focal point of the master ensuite is the walk-in shower, enclosed by gracefully arching glass doors. A dressing table provides a dedicated space to prepare for the day, while a beautiful roll-top bath introduces an invitation to relax and unwind in timeless elegance. Layered with elements of quiet luxury, the space is completed by plush Frette towels, luxe beauty products from Commune and carefully curated objet.

GUEST BEDROOM
Designed for cherished family members, the guest bedroom features a stunning bespoke headboard and beautiful original fireplace. The striking striped wallpapered ceiling is the room's focal point, seamlessly blending contemporary design with its period features. Curated styling brings the elements together, complementing the rich plum accents and creating a warm, welcoming space for loved ones.

GUEST BATHROOM
Continuing the established palette from the bedroom, the guest bathroom is designed with comfort at its core. The traditional WC and contemporary soft grey vanity seamlessly blend with the striking panelling, while the book-matched marble veining and antique bronze accents in the shower thoughtfully combine old and new.

CHILDREN'S BEDROOM
Located on the family floor, the children’s rooms enjoy a rare treetop view across London, providing a completely uninterrupted perspective that evokes the tranquillity of countryside living. Window seating provides an ideal space for bedtime stories or peaceful gazing. Designed with our client’s young daughter in mind, the room is completed in a soft blush palette, accented with delicate pom-pom details.

FAMILY BATHROOM
The family bathroom is thoughtfully designed to blend style and practicality. Fun, vibrant elements like the striking chevron-laid marble flooring and the fresh green vanity are paired with classic sanitary ware, striking a perfect balance between contemporary design and timeless elegance. The result is a warm, welcoming space where comfort meets character - ideal for both lively family moments and peaceful relaxation.

One of our greatest assets is our little black book of trusted artisans and makers who believe in championing hand crafted techniques and are as passionate about delivering the world’s finest, as we are. It was at Walpole’s launch of ‘luxury in the making’ that we had the pleasure of hearing Richard Brendon speak passionately about British heritage craftsmanship and what needs to be done to ensure it survives. Here we talk to Richard about his beautifully crafted tableware that perfectly bridges the gap between traditional craft and contemporary design and the passion he has for all things food and drink.
