Project Focus

The Windsor by Heathrow VIP

Each suite is accented with rich textures, patterns, and materials inspired by British style, drawing inspiration from signature suiting and sartorial classics, and featuring statement details such as stripes, geometrics, fringing, and tassels.

Oliver Burns Studio has been entrusted by the Heathrow VIP team to work across the phased refurbishment of The Windsor and Heathrow VIP; a multi-faceted project that will continue for the next three years (plus). This initial phase enhances the design to reflect the exceptional service HVIP provides, while respecting the existing base build and architectural constraints.

ATRIUM & ENTRANCE

On entering The Windsor, you are greeted with an elegant and calming space, where soft organic shapes, oversized greenery, and natural light soften bold architectural details. Thoughtful British design touches are woven throughout, such as charcoal chevron flooring inspired by tweed and vertical fluting on the concierge desk, evoking a classic pinstripe.

The hero of the space is a sculptural Ruschita Champagne marble concierge desk, its curved form features a repetitive vertical flute detail and gentle diagonal veining. A bespoke centrepiece table in dark-stained oak with a stacked travertine base sits on top of an exquisite rug inspired by the braiding of a tailored jacket and incorporates the Windsor’s ‘W’ marque.

The atrium’s Axminster carpet is crafted in soft hues of pale pink, sage, and blue, seamlessly tying together the bespoke furnishings. Crafted with an emphasis on comfort, the space includes meticulously designed pieces, such the oversized banquette, velvet swivel chairs with elegant fringing, and gracefully curved sofas. Art Deco inspired coffee and bistro tables complement the setting, while jewel-like table lamps and a curated collection of books allow you to relax and unwind.

The bar is also inspired by the Art Deco era, with a signature rounded design clad in low-sheen Figured Eucalyptus veneer, with bespoke bronze handles, and a Via Latte marble top. The quadruple-bullnose edge is complemented by a faux-leather screen in a dark oak frame, completing the space.

KENSINGTON

Featuring soft blush tones with black and white contrasts, the palette sets the tone for a stylish, elegant, yet contemporary space. The design introduces softness through playful elements, such as bold-patterned armchair backs, oversized timber bauble legs on the dining table, and cloud-shaped nesting coffee tables.

The walls are adorned with bespoke Cole & Son wallpaper, adapted from their archive collection, which sets the backdrop for the stunning bespoke pieces within the space. An elongated leaf-shaped rug sets the stage for the beautifully curved sofa, providing a base that cocoons the bespoke designs. This creates a welcoming, cosy space that invites you to relax within the luxurious fabrics of the sofa and tulip-inspired swivel chairs.

Drawing design cues from natural silhouettes, the Tom Faulkner Lily mirror, Kifu Paris side tables and floor lamp, nesting coffee tables and credenza all feature natural curves, organic shapes, and the gorgeous profile of petal forms. The space includes a gorgeous selection of curated objet, such as a beautifully crafted porcelain pedestal bowl by Joanna Ling for The Edition94.

Elevating the in-house dining experience, the dining table features dark-stained oak and Volakas marble top, which is softened by the introduction of bauble-shaped legs and accompanied by luxurious mohair-upholstered dining chairs.

The Kensignton Suite

CHELSEA

Earthy tones of sage and rust warm the natural palette of The Chelsea Suite, which can transform into a super suite when opened up with The Kensington Suite, thanks to the elegant suede partition. With this in mind, some design features are subtly echoed in both suites, such as the herringbone floor and elongated leaf-shaped rug.

Addingits own distinctive touches, the space includes an Ivory Travertine marble console table and pouffe in the entrance area, creating simple elegance. The Ripple Julian Chichester mirror sits above, further complementing the console and increasing the feeling of space.

ISLINGTON

The small but perfectly formed Islington Suite has been cleverly designed to create a comfortable, light, and bright space by adding accents of gorgeous mint green, sage, and blush pink, all tied together by the stunning artworks by Dai Ping Jun, ‘Soliloquy’, which creates the main focal point.

Sitting in the entrance is the dark oak-stained console table and mohair fabric ottoman, which are paired with the stunning round bronze Laurel mirror by Porta Romana.

Soft abstract shapes come together in the bespoke wool rug, which is inspired by the wave of the sofa and designed to soften the contrast of the credenza. Crafted from chiselled wood, its sides and legs add texture and interest to the piece, and the soft dark green suede leather top adds colour and a tactile feel to the piece, which was made by Davidson London and is finished with Organo Joseph Giles handles.

A cosy armchair in a Dedar Lupo boucle fabric with arched armrests brings neutrality to the space and blends with the Taj Mahal marble of the asymmetric coffee table, elegantly uniting the space. Finishing the room is the Adler floor lamp by Heathfield & Co. and two beautiful side tables in a dark brushed nickel metal finish.
