Project Focus

The Bryanston, Hyde Park

Oliver Burns Studio was commissioned by Almacantar to design a rare flagship show apartment at The Bryanston, creating an interior that embodies the building's architectural vision while showcasing the very best of super-prime living.

Designed by Rafael Viñoly, The Bryanston is distinguished by itsiconic sweeping curves, three metre-ceiling heights and unrivaled Hyde Park views through over sized picture frame windows, which serve as the foundation of the design narrative. Every space has been conceived to celebrate volume, flow, and natural light, translating the building’s architectural language into the interiors, where landscape and form coexist in effortless balance.

Inspired pace of modern life. This four-bedroom show apartment is a place where spaces soften and envelop, where light and flow nurture wellbeing, and where calm is woven into the architecture itself. Every element of this multi-sensory experience - from the integrity of natural materials to a scent journey, created in collaboration with AUGUST&PIERS scent, has been crafted with intention: to restore balance, enrich wellbeing, and transform the everyday into an enduring expression of Thoughtful Luxury - design that goes beyond the aesthetic.

ENTRANCE HALL

The grand entrance welcomes with a quiet, confident elegance, inviting guests to pause and take in the carefully curated details. Softly textured walls, finished in fresh, nuanced tones, set a serene and sophisticated backdrop that shifts gently with the light. Sculpted stone consoles lend a sense of permanence and craftsmanship, their natural variations adding depth and character. Overscaled artworks each a considered focal point introduce a touch of drama and contemporary grandeur, ensuring the arrival experience feels both timeless and distinctly memorable.

DINING ROOM

The dining room is centred around a bespoke table that naturally draws the space together. Its bronze base and marble top celebrate craftsmanship, where contrasting materials are brought into quiet balance. The atmosphere strikes a gentle interplay between softness and a contemporary edge, creating a space that feels both refined and welcoming. Neutral tones and subtle textures form a calm, cohesive backdrop, allowing the table and lighting to take focus without ever feeling overstated.

A graceful wrap-around headboard softly encloses the bed, flowing into carved stone bedside tables that feel hewn from nature itself. The walls are clad in a whisper soft textured wallpaper, finished in muted neutrals and delicate sage tones that echo the verdant hues of the Hyde Park vista beyond. THE STUDY / FOURTH BEDROOM

Rich, vibrant textures and colours pulse through the study / fourth bedroom, their intensity perfectly offset by the serene softness of a plush ivory rug, leaving the user feeling effortlessly energised.

A meticulously detailed piece of joinery commands attention, forming the perfect backdrop for a king-size bed or a desk, functional yet utterly seductive in its precision. Alongside, a niche wall frames an upholstered piece with impeccable precision, a quiet invitation to sink in, letting the world fade as the room’s colour and texture envelope you in luxurious comfort.

BESPOKE RUGS

Drawn from the quiet, unhurried rhythms of Hyde Park and the meandering paths of Kensington Gardens, the collection of bespoke rugs in the apartment draw their inspiration from nature, movement and stillness. Celebrating the subtle connections to nature within the city, their sweeping, fluid forms trace the gentle course of water and winding walkways, expressed through abstract, layered textures and soft transitions in tone. Each piece is unique in its composition, yet connected through a shared sense of pause within the park, subtly speaking to one another while retaining its own identity. Designed as grounding elements within the space, they bring restoration and comfort, their tactile softness underfoot fostering a quiet connection to nature and to rest.

Scent Journey created in collaboration with AUGUST&PIERS

A SCENT JOURNEY

A scent journey, created in collaboration with AUGUST&PIERS, a London-based home fragrance brand, unfolds through the apartment, designed to embody the interiors and awaken the senses. From the moment you enter, fragrance is subtly woven through each space, guiding you along corridors and into living areas. Notes of sweet fig, cassis and delicate orange blossom bring a gentle softness, reminiscent of balmy summer evenings spent on the terrace. In the bedrooms, the mood shifts, where patchouli, amber and vanilla invite a quiet ritual, setting intention at the start of the day, or preparing the senses for a peaceful night’s sleep.
