The Curated World of Design
This month’s theme ‘The Curated World of Design’, explores the vital role collectibles play in shaping our interiors. From sharing our expert perspective on gallery-level works to how we curate meaningful collections for our clients.
WORKING WITH OUR CLIENTS’ COLLECTIONS
Our clients’ collections are often shaped around a style, artist, or period that resonates with them, each piece chosen tells their story. By understanding the provenance behind each work, we are able to guide them thoughtfully in expanding these collections. For some clients, there may have been a moment that sparked a lifelong interest in a particular movement or artist, while others continue to build on a legacy collection inherited from family. Whatever the story, we work closely with the client and trusted experts to ensure their treasured pieces are seamlessly woven into our design of their home.

MARRYING COLLECTIONS WITH ARCHITECTURE
Many of the homes we work with are legacy residences, which boast incredible period features. Whether vast ceiling heights, ornate fireplaces, generous room proportions, or intricate detailing, all these architectural elements are considered when pairing with artworks or gallery-level pieces.
Curated in parallel with our design narrative, we treat these features as a canvas upon which to layer art. It could be as dramatic as positioning a statement sculpture within a double-height entrance hall or as subtle as selecting a piece that echoes the intricacies of a carved fireplace. We find works that respond directly to the scale, tone, and materiality of the design and architecture, creating harmony between the building and the collection.

REFLECTING CLIENTS’ INVESTMENTS OF PASSION
From haute couture to travel, fine wines to craftsmanship, our clients’ passions shape our designs. For example, a client inspired by fashion may be drawn to pieces with sartorial detailing, while another with a love of contemporary culture may prefer bold, abstract works. It is vital for us to understand these interests, as well as their lifestyles, so that their homes feel relevant, personal, and unique.

INVESTING IN MASTERPIECES
Our role is to guide clients toward pieces they love, artworks that not only elevate their homes but also reflect their individuality and values. Beyond the aesthetic, we also look to curate works that stand the test of time, pieces that hold enduring artistic, emotional, and cultural significance. Each acquisition is approached with thought and care, ensuring that what is chosen today will continue to enrich the home and carry meaning for generations to come.
