  • he design brief for this well-appointed entrance hall was to create the wow factor whilst opening up the space and maximising natural light. A chequered grey Nero Marquina and white Cararra marble floor delivers a glamorous welcome and sets the scene for what lies within this beautiful family home:- a contemporary take on Georgian style.  The neutral colour palette of Glacier Grey by Zoffany provides an elegant backdrop for the different materials within the scheme, whilst accents of blue punctuate the space and create a luxurious modern feel, inspired by the colours of the Amalfi coast.

A bespoke cantilevered staircase with wrought iron balustrade provides a grand centrepiece that sweeps up three floors; the entire handrail was fashioned from one single piece of wood.  Recessed lighting illuminates the staircase and curved wall and accentuates the architectural detailing, while a geometric stair runner by Stark luxuriates underfoot with polished chrome stair rods.

Look up and you are treated to a sensory experience that surprises and delights. Three large bespoke Georgian lanterns in polished chrome hang from the ceiling far above, suspended over three floors, linked together with bespoke chrome suspension rods.

Period influences are evident throughout, with full height doors, panelling and sash windows so beloved of the Georgian era adding true grandeur. Raising doorways to full height while keeping the skirting and panelling lower than Georgian tradition would demand creates the illusion of high ceilings.  A carefully selected Bob Dylan watercolour ‘Dallas Hotel Room’ blends seamlessly with the overall design scheme and a gallery wall acts as a stylish reminder of treasured memories.

Every detail of this entrance hall has been thoughtfully considered, even down to the floral display designed by McQueens, which sits atop the Christopher Guy hall table and acts as a focal point for the space; finishing off the design beautifully. This hallway represents the perfect marriage of classic style with distinctive contemporary touches.
