  • he kitchen is often thought of as the heart of the home; from rushed early mornings with the aroma of exhilarating coffee, to relaxed evenings cooking delectable dinners. Traditionally a kitchen was once a place for cooking and storage, however now the room has become a main focus of the home; a sociable and welcoming space. In our recent Loft Apartment project, the kitchen was imperative to the overall look and feel of the home. The client liked to socialise, particularly in this area, so the space needed to be both functional and accommodating.

We designed the space with plenty of seating, including a breakfast bar and a large industrial trestle table. The legs on the table are also able to extend for versatile use as a standing bar table or for low seated dining.

In order to maximise the storage for the apartment whilst maintaining the industrial loft style, we designed full height kitchen cupboards and a wall of shelving units with a structured and modern feel.

In keeping with the character of the apartment bronze steel cupboard fronts, grey worktops and white brick tiles complemented the exposed pipework, whitewash floorboards and industrial suspended lighting. By maintaining the warming exposed brick wall and large industrial windows we allowed plenty of natural light into the room creating an open and welcoming space.

The multi-purpose design of the loft apartment kitchen was tailored to the clients brief to create a unique space; allowing the display of their most loved pieces, whilst creating an uncluttered environment to entertain guests.
